How does online ordering work?

Browse our products, add what you want to your cart, and check out securely online with a credit card. Once payment clears we hold your order in store. Bring a valid government issued ID (must be 18+) and pick up at 1508 N Main St in Crown Point, IN. No shipping, no lines, no waiting.

What fireworks do you carry?

A full selection of consumer fireworks including cakes, compound cakes, artillery shells, roman candles, rockets, firecrackers, mines, fountains, sparklers, and novelty items. Every product on the site has a video demo so you can see exactly what you are getting before you buy. We also carry a limited stock of larger walls in store only.

What is the State Firework Tax on my receipt?

Indiana applies two charges on every consumer fireworks sale. A 7% Indiana sales tax (IC 6-2.5, filed monthly via ST-103), and a 5% State Firework Tax. The State Firework Tax is officially the Indiana Public Safety Fee on Fireworks (IC 22-11-14.5), mandated by state law on all consumer fireworks sales. It funds local fire departments and EMS. Both appear as separate line items on your receipt and email confirmation.

Can Illinois residents buy fireworks here?

Yes. Illinois residents can legally purchase fireworks in Indiana regardless of where they plan to use them. We are about 45 minutes from downtown Chicago and a short drive from the Illinois border towns of Lansing, Calumet City, and Dyer. You must check your local laws regarding possession and use before transporting them home, since most consumer fireworks are restricted in Illinois (especially within Chicago city limits).

How old do I have to be?

You must be 18 or older to purchase fireworks in Indiana. A valid government issued ID is required at pickup. We check every order. No exceptions.

What are your hours?

Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 8 PM. Sunday, 12 PM to 6 PM. Pick up your order anytime during store hours.

Where are you located?

1508 N Main St, Crown Point, IN 46307. Right next to Maxwell's Hotdogs in downtown Crown Point. Easy to find with plenty of parking. Minutes from the Illinois border.

Do you ship fireworks?

No. We are an in store pickup only retailer. Federal regulations make consumer fireworks shipping impractical and expensive. Pickup at our store is fast, free, and gets you the freshest stock.

What is a show package?

A show package is a prebuilt, ready to fire bundle of fireworks with a timed lightoff schedule. We sell four packages from $99 to $999 covering different show lengths and budgets. Each one comes with the actual product list and a step by step lightoff plan, so you do not have to guess what to light when.

What are walls?

Walls are large premium fireworks display sets we keep stocked at the store only. They are not sold online because they are limited inventory and sell out fast every season. Photos are on the homepage. Stop in early to see what is in stock this year.

What is Willy Wednesday?

The biggest fireworks day of the year at our store and a free community show we have put on since 1982. In 2026 it is Tuesday, June 30 at 7:00pm at Hidden Lake, 6355 Broadway Ave, Merrillville. Doorbusters, fresh stock, in store specials, and the deepest selection we carry all year.

Are your fireworks legal and safe?

Yes. We are fully licensed by the Indiana State Fire Marshal and only carry CPSC compliant consumer grade (1.4G) fireworks. Every product is tested and labeled. We recommend reading the instructions on every product, keeping a water source nearby, lighting one at a time, and never relighting a dud.

Do you accept refunds or returns?

All fireworks sales are final once picked up. Before pickup, we can cancel or modify your order on request. Email or call the store with your order number. See our refund policy at /refund-policy for full details.

Do I need a permit to set off fireworks in Indiana?

No permit is required for consumers using 1.4G consumer fireworks during the legally designated dates and times. Professional display fireworks (1.3G) do require permits and licensed pyrotechnicians, and we do not sell those.

What does SAFE N SANE mean?

Safe and sane is the casual name for non aerial, non explosive consumer fireworks that Indiana law allows you to light any day of the year on your own property. Sparklers, fountains, snakes, smoke devices, glow worms, and party poppers all qualify. Aerial fireworks like cakes, artillery shells, roman candles, and rockets are restricted to the holiday windows defined by IC 22-11-14-8 (mainly the June 29 through July 9 Independence Day window and December 31). We mark every safe and sane product on the site with a green SAFE N SANE badge so you can spot the year round legal options at a glance.
